Emile Witbooi, Neo Bohloko and Shaun Els scored for 10-men Amajimbos who beat Bolivia 3-1 in their 2025 U17 FIFA World Cup opener at the Aspire Zone Complex in AL Rayyan in the capital Doha on Monday afternoon.
Despite going one man down after Sive Pama was shown his marching orders in the 35th minute, it was the South Africans who broke the deadlock two minutes later through Emile Witbooi to make it 1-0.

Lwandiso Radebe pulled off a great save on the stroke of halftime denying a Bolivian attacker by tipping his header over the bar.
Kamohelo Mareletse came close to doubling the lead for Amajimbos but his effort from close range was too close to the goalkeeper before Luke Hendricks’ header was parried away.
Kaizer Chiefs’ DDC striker Neo Bohloko then made it 2-0 for Amajimbos in the 50th minute after tapping in from close range connecting with Alwande Booysen’s low cross.
Bolivia pulled one goal back in the 72nd minute after being awarded a penalty.
Another Amakhosi striker in Shaun Els was on the end of Booysen’s pass at the far post to make it 3-1 and all but secure the three points.
Vela Khumalo’s charges managed to thwart all the threat from Bolivia to hold on and claim a memorable win to move top of Group A.
