Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly have announced their starting XI to face Wydad Athletic Club in the CAF Champions League final.
The Club of the Century could lift their third successive CAFCL title on Monday after beating Zamalek in the 2020 final and Kaizer Chiefs in 2021.
However, Mosimane and his side will have a mountain to climb as they face Wydad at their own home ground at the Stade Mohamed V in Morocco.
Al Ahly booked their ticket for the final after beating ES Setif 6-2 on aggregate, with South African winger Percy Tau being involved in all six goals, scoring twice and setting up the other four.
Meanwhile, Wydad eliminated Petro de Luanda 4-2 on aggregate. Wydad, who were knocked out by Kaizer Chiefs in last season’s semi-final, are unbeaten in their last eight games in the competition.
Al Ahly on the other hand are unbeaten in their last six games and already eliminated Wydad’s bitter rivals Raja Casablanca in the quarter-final of the competition.
They could lift their 11th CAF Champions League title overall, while Wydad will aim to win their third title after 1992 and 2017.
Both sides have met 10 times so far, with Al Ahly picking up four wins, including their last two clashes, while Wydad have collected two wins.
Here is how they line up:
