AmaZulu FC and Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed their starting line-up for this morning’s Carling Black Label Cup fixture at FNB stadium.
For the first time In the history of the Carling Black Label cup, there will be four teams involved which were voted by football lovers. AmaZulu and Mamelodi Sundowns will battle in the first semi-final of the mini-tournament.
These teams are meeting for the second time this season, with Downs coming into the fixture as favourites after beating Usuthu early in September with a solitary goal from an own goal by goalkeeper Veli Mothwa.
Usuthu supporters chose a familiar starting lineup from the one that is known with Veluyeke Zulu replacing Ramahlwe Mphahlela after he got injured and the other unfamiliar face in the team is Ethan Brooks who replaces on form George Maluleka who’s also injured. Sphelele Maduna and Bonginkosi Ntuli were also voted to start, but they won’t be part of the team due to injury.
Meanwhile, Masandawana has chosen a starting line that will see two of their right-backs both in the field of play; Thapelo Morena and Khuliso Mudau. The surprise package has to be Gift Motupa who’s only played two games this season but is in the starting lineup as he replaces injured Thabiso Kutumela. Erwin Saavedra and Marcelo Allende will be sidelined due to injury.
A win for this encounter will face a winner between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs later today.
