Despite suffering CAF Champions League heartbreak this past weekend, Orlando Pirates attacker Oswin Appollis maintains that they have drawn positives after the defeat.
The Buccaneers staged a thrilling 3-0 comeback in the second leg eSgodini against DRC outfit St Eloi Lupopo but were sent crashing out of continental football after a 5-4 penalty shootout defeat.

The diminutive Bafana Bafana speedster who scored Pirates’ third goal to send the tie into penalties and then converted his spot kick, was left disappointed but simultaneoulsy remained positive with what they took away from the defeat.
“Coming today [Saturday] knowing that we’re 3-0 down. The team fought for today,” a gutted Appollis told OP TV.
“We managed to score three goals and obviously we’re very disappointed for the team as Orlando Pirates.
“We have to be in the Champions League and unfortunately today we got knocked out.
“I know the group is disappointed but we can take a lot of positives from this game coming from 3-0 down to score three goals.
“It’s a positive that we can take into the next game.”
