FIFA World Cup-bound Bafana Bafana will face Zambia in an international friendly on Friday, 14 November 2025, SAFA has confirmed.
With the venue still to be decided, head coach Hugo Broos will use this as part of the team’s preparations for this year’s AFCON in Morocco.
South Africa qualified for the continental showpiece after topping the group and will look to improve on their third-place finish at the last AFCON in Ivory Coast.
On Friday, SAFA confirmed Bafana will take on Chipolopolo after also sealing qualification for next year’s FIFA World Cup in USA, Mexico and Canada after beating Rwanda 3-0 in Mbombela last week.
“FIFA World Cup-bound Bafana Bafana will face Zambia in an international friendly match to be played at home next month.
“The match will be played in South Africa on Friday, 14 November 2025 as part of coach Hugo Broos’ preparations for this year’s Africa Cup on Nations (AFCON) in Morocco at the end of the year. The South African Football Association (SAFA) will confirm the match venue and the ticketing details in the coming days.
“Bafana Bafana are in Group B in the AFCON, and they will face Egypt, Angola and Zimbabwe. The South Africans play their first match of the continental tournament against Angola on 22 December 2025.
“Broos’ charges returned with a bronze medal during their last appearance at the AFCON after beating DR Congo 6-5 on penalties at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Côte d’Ivoire to claim third place in February last year.
“The South African senior men’s team qualified for next year’s FIFA World Cup after beating Rwanda 3-0 in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, last week.”
