Ubuntu Football Academy are the 2025 Bayhill Premier Cup after beating Randburg AFC 2-0 in the final at Athlone Stadium on Monday afternoon.
It was Ubuntu’s first ever Bayhill victory, as they lifted the Roger Clayton trophy after a hard fought final.
Ubuntu’s 1.96m striker Henry Ihebe scored a brace, though the 18-year-old big man didn’t need his size for either, with neat close range finishes for both goals.
The two highly respected youth academies were surprise finalists after outlasting some of the higher profile clubs in the competition.
Ubuntu knocked out Cape Town City in the semi finals, while Randburg had beaten Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarterfinals.
Randburg’s midfielder Travis Carter was named Player of the Tournament.
Earlier in the day, Sundowns bounced back to beat AmaZulu in the Mid Section final, while Antalyaspor JPM CT won the Plate section, beating Stanturf United.
