Mamelodi Sundowns youngster Bennet Mokoena has opened up on his experience with the first team, having made his debut a few weeks ago.
The 18-year-old was handed his first-team appearance by coach Miguel Cardoso in the Betway Premiership clash against Golden Arrows on 24 September when Sundowns lost 1-0.

This was after impressive displays he had with the reserve team, earning him a move up to the senior side.
This past weekend, Mokoena was again with the reserve side as they beat AmaZulu 3-0 in the DDC. He scored the third goal—a magnificent strike from the free-kick spot.
Mokoena says the main difference between the Betway Premiership and the DDC is the high intensity of the top flight, where thinking and decision-making must be much quicker.
“The difference between Diski and top-flight is the intensity,” said Mokoena at Princess Magogo Stadium after the DDC match against AmaZulu.
“They play with high intensity in the first team, you need to think quickly because there’s a small space.
“Yes, there’s a space, but you need to think quickly so that when you get the ball you know what to do and who to pass.”
He revealed that he has received significant guidance from the older players he has been training alongside.
“Obviously, I’m still young, they tell me I have to listen to my elders,” he added.
“They advised me to be humble and focus on football and work hard as much as I can.”
