Chiefs Advance To The Home Of Legends Cup Final

Kaizer Chiefs booked a place into the Home Of Legends Cup final after eliminating Lamontville Golden Arrows 2-0 in the first semi-final.

Home Of Legends’ inaugural showpiece kicked off this morning with the first semi-final between Chiefs and Golden Arrows with Mamelodi Sundowns and Chippa United set to take centre stage at 12pm.

Amakhosi opened the scoring in the sixth minute through Mfundo Vilakazi after Reeve Frosler produced an assist. Throughout the first half, Arrows goalkeeper Nkosingiphile Gumede was the busiest of the two.

Chiefs went into the halftime break with a 1-0 lead advantage.

Both sides made some changes at the beginning of the second half, hoping to revive their energies for the last 45 minutes.

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo made an immediate impact when he scored the second goal, just inside the 50th minute, to give the Chiefs a comfortable 2-0 lead on his 25th birthday.

Amakhosi will face a winner between Sundowns and Chippa United later today at 17h00.
