Kaizer Chiefs’ Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has explained why the club opted to bring David ‘DVD’ Mathebula back into the club structures.
The former Chiefs midfielder was appointed as head coach of the club’s U19 team and will also assist coach Vela Khumalo.
Mathebula played for Chiefs between 2004/05 and 2010/11 and won seven trophies with the Glamour Boys.
“In keeping with the Club’s strategy of bringing in individuals who understand our philosophy, we are very excited to welcome coach David Mathebula back to the Village. We believe he will add a lot of value to our youth structures,” Motaung Jr. told the club.

“We welcome coach David Mathebula to the Amakhosi youth development structure,” Head of Technical and Youth Development, Molefi Ntseki added.
“We look forward to his contribution and sharing of knowledge and experience with the young players we have in our development.”
Mathebula will also work with other Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy coaches including U15 coach Jimmy Jambo and Tshidiso Letsholonyane.
