Chiefs Miss Chance To Move Up The Table After City Stalemate

Kaizer Chiefs missed the chance to climb the table after their 0-0 draw against Cape Town City in their Betway Premiership clash at FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Chiefs were aiming to make it three wins from three when they hosted an out of sorts Cape Town City who have one win from their last 10 games in all competitions.

They created the bulk of the chances but spurned several, with Mduduzi Shabalala going closest just before the break, hitting the ball wide of Darren Keet’s post from close range.

In the second half Amakhosi maintained their dominance of possession and attacking intent, while City were content to play off the odd transition with the hope of breaking the deadlock.

Glody Lilepo hit the upright and Thabo Cele saw a long range effort wizz past Keet’s post as it looked inevitable that the opener would arrive.

But it wasn’t to be for Nasreddine Nabi and his troops as they missed the chance to move ahead of AmaZulu and claw close to the top three and CAF inter-club qualification spots.
