Chiefs & Sundowns Starting XIs Announced

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their starting lineups for this evening Carling Knockout Cup quarterfinal at the FNB Stadium.

It’s been a month since these two sides faced each other in a league match at the same venue, where Sundowns was victorious by 2-1 after Chiefs scored first. This evening Chiefs have a chance to return the favour and keep their hopes of ending a 10-year trophy drought. Amakhosi eliminated SuperSport United in the round of 16 by 4-0 to advance into the quarterfinals.

How to watch the game?

Sundowns, on the other hand, will want to keep their good record at FNB Stadium against Chiefs. Downs haven’t lost to Chiefs at the FNB since 2017, when Amakhosi won by 2-1. Now retired Bernard Parker scored, and Soumahoro Bangaly scored an own goal.

This evening’s clash will be played at a sold-out stadium. Whoever wins will be seen as a favourite to win the trophy on the 21st of December, when the final will be played.

The semis will be played on the weekend of the 9th of November. The semifinal draw will be done tomorrow after the final last eight fixture between Stellenbosch FC and Marumo Gallants.

Here is how they line up:

Chiefs XI: Ntwari, Frosler, Cross, Miguel, Dortley, Blom, Zwane, Sirino, Shabalala, Duba, Chivaviro

Subs: Bvuma, Ditlhokwe, Mashiane, Maart, Ngcobo, Vilakazi, Solomons, Saile, Du Preez
