Kaizer Chiefs and Swallows FC have confirmed their starting line-ups for this afternoon’s important DStv Premiership fixture at FNB stadium.
It is set to be a blockbuster encounter between Chiefs, who aim to keep their CAF inter clubs’ competition hopes alive, and relegation strugglers Swallow FC.
Dylan Kerr’s side, who last won a league match on 24 April, know very well anything less than three points will drive them to either automatic relegation or playoffs – depending on the other results, while Amakhosi need the three points to keep their chances of qualifying for a CAF competition alive.
The Ephefeni Glamour Boys might have easily won the first round of this encounter but they know it won’t be easy to overcome ‘The Dube Birds’ as they fighting for their lives.
In addition, interim coach Arthur Zwane has some injury concerns, with the likes of Keagan Dolly, Samir Nurkovic, Leonardo Castro, Siyabonga Ngezana and Lebogang Manyama all ruled out with injury, while Cole Alexander is suspended.
Swallows sit on 25 points on the log, equal to Baroka but have the better goal difference, with both sides two points behind TS Galaxy. Chiefs on the other hand have 46 points and could theoretically still catch second-place Cape Town City, who have 49 points.
Here’s is how they line up:
Kaizer Chiefs XI: Bvuma, Njabulo Ngcobo, Mphahlele, Blom, Froster, Nange, Baccus, Radebe, Parker, Mashiane, Billiat.
