DStv Premiership side Chippa United has shown interest in Maritzburg United defender Bonginkosi Makume.
Makume joined ‘The Team of Choice’ at the beginning of 2022/23 season, and signed a three-year deal with a two-year option included.
The 27-year-old hasn’t had luck on his side after suffering two successive relegations, firstly with Baroka last season and now with Maritzburg.
However, he impressed during his debut season and featured in 29 of their 36 games played across all competitions in central defence and at times as a right full-back.
The talented defender is a wanted man by Chilli Boys, but he won’t be going for free as he still has two years left on his contract.
iDiski Times understands no official offer has been tabled to United yet but he’s a key target for the club set to be led by Morgan Mammila in the new season.
United has let go of most of their players which includes former Orlando Pirates defender Wayde Jooste, Jose Ali Meza, Renaldo Leaner and the entire technical team.
