Chippa United are closing in on their next head coach, with Luc Eymael the front-runner to replace Sinethemba Badela.
This publication has established that Eymael touched down in South Africa ahead of his anticipated move to Chippa after the departure of Badela. The Belgian coach was recently with the DRC side FC Saint Eloi.Â
Should everything be agreed on, Eymael will be expected to be around Chili Boys when they face Richards Bay in five days to come but paperwork could delay him from sitting on the bench.
Badela’s exit at the club came after just two matches and what was looking like a new era under new Sporting Director Sinesipho Mali, with focus mainly on Easter Cape-born talent.
But due to issues behind the scenes, Badela left after a 1-1 draw with Mamelodi Sundowns and 1-0 loss to Durban City.
Musa Nyatama was listed as head coach, assisted by Morgan Mammila, in the 4-1 loss to TS Galaxy on Tuesday.
But Eymael now seems to be the preferred candidate to calm matters at the Chilli Boys.
