City Waiting On PSL Feedback Over Chiefs Game

Cape Town City are still awaiting official feedback from the Premier Soccer League regarding their ‘rescheduled’ fixture against Kaizer Chiefs.

Chiefs failed to honour the matches against Golden Arrows and City following a serious Covid-19 outbreak at the club.

While SAFA arbitration ruled in Chiefs favour, saying the fixtures should be replayed, the PSL have taken the matter to the South Gauteng High Court to have the ruling set aside.

However, an internal circular from the league indicated the fixtures would be rescheduled for later this month.

City then responded to the league after the circular went out stating that all parties had agreed to dates for the games that were rescheduled from December.

City, however, insisted they were not consulted on this matter, and the first time they heard about the scheduled dates was in that correspondence.

A source at the club has confirmed that City are currently awaiting the league’s official response, but they had made contact with the club to confirm they were waiting for legal feedback.

Chiefs’ have since confirmed that their match against Arrows was rescheduled for 27 April, while the City game was scheduled for 30 April.
