Cross On Shabalala Critics After Nedbank Cup Exit

Kaizer Chiefs defender Bradley Cross has thrown his weight behind teammate Mduduzi Shabalala who has been met with criticism following their Nedbank Cup exit.

A certain section of Chiefs fans blamed Shabalala for their early elimination from the Ke Yona Cup they won last season after missing numerous chances against Stellenbosch FC in the Round of 32 on Wednesday.

Amakhosi now remain in two competitions as they seek silverware this season in the form of the Betway Premiership and CAF Confederation Cup.

Cross says they are fully behind ‘Mdu Or Die’ as he’s a mentally strong player.

“We all support him and we all with him,” he said at Chiefs’ community outreach in Limpopo.

“Like I said, that happens to everyone. Everyone can miss opportunities.

“At the end of the day, we all surrounded by him and we comforting him and he knows himself he’s strong mentally and we all behind him and we got his back.”
