Orlando Pirates have confirmed that striker Zakhele Lepasa has been loaned out to SuperSport United for the remainder of the season.
Lepasa, 25, had impressed under Jose Riveiro in the first half of the campaign, with his fine form earning him a call-up to Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana.
However, he has found game-time hard to come by off late and wasn’t part of the squad in Pirates’ last three DStv Premiership games.
On Tuesday, the Buccaneers confirmed that Lepasa has joined Matsatsantsa on loan.
Lepasa has made 10 appearances for the Buccaneers in 2022/23, scoring once. He also featured in three of Bafana’s last four matches, scoring in the 1-1 draw with Angola and setting up two goals in the 4-0 win over Sierre Leone.
Overall, he featured 41 times for the Sea Robbers, finding the back of the net five times.
He becomes SuperSport’s second new striker after the arrival of Mamour Niang, the younger brother of former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Mame Niang.
