Downs Ladies’ Striker Joins Turkish Side

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies winger Chuene Morifi has officially joined Turkish side Beylerbeyispor.

Morifi has been on the books of the Continental Queens for seven years, and won several trophies including two CAF Women’s Champions League before she was voted Fans’ Player of the Season at the 2023 Hollywoodbets Super League awards.

She leaves Sundowns at a time where they are preparing for the Women’s Cup which will be held in USA, Kansas City next month against top sides like Japanese powerhouse INAC Kobe Leonessa and Atlético de Madrid.

The left-footer has capped Banyana Banyana on a few occasions. She signed with Beylerbeyi Women which campaigns in the Turkish Women’s Football Super League.

Beylerbeyi’s aim is to play UEFA Champions League football after missing out this past season, finishing in fifth place in the league. The Turkish Women’s Super League is expected to start next month.
