Kaizer Chiefs teenager Wandile Duba has made a bullish statement ahead of Saturday’s Soweto Derby after scoring the winner against Golden Arrows on Tuesday.
Duba, 19, made his first senior start and scored the only goal of the match to move Chiefs level on points with Pirates
The Buccaneers still have a chance to move into second place with a win over Cape Town Spurs on Wednesday before the two Soweto giants will meet each other on Saturday.
Duba had to be taken off in the second half but says he’ll be ready for the derby, before sending a warning to Pirates.
“It’s not something that you can worry about. I think the physios will do something but I’ll be ok for the derby,” he told SuperSport TV.
“They should expect me because I’m coming.”
Duba also revealed that the technical team expressed their confidence in him before the match.
“They did tell me if I believe in myself, I will score because I’ve been working hard in training,” he added.
When asked about his superb strike, Duba admitted he took an example from Phil Foden, who scored a similar cracker in the Manchester derby.
“Did you see Foden in the Manchester derby, did you see what he did? He got inside and scored.”
