Durban City Drop Points & Kruger Move Second

Motsepe Foundation Championship leaders Durban City dropped points for the second consecutive game as Kruger United moved to second place after a comfortable win over Upington City.

Durban City played a goalless draw against bottom side Leruma United away from home with the KwaZulu Natal-based side collecting two points out of a possible six with Leruma recording their third consecutive draw. 

Venda FC moved out of the relegation zone after hammering title challengers JDR Stars 3-0. Rankonko Tau scored the opening goal just before the end of the first half and Banele Gama doubled the lead for Venda in the 68th minute before Tshabalala Matimu rounded off the scoring in the 96th-minute to seal the three points for the Limpopo-based side.

Casric Stars kept their promotional hopes alive after they comfortably beat Milford FC 2-0 for their second successive win while Milford dropped to seventh place.

Kruger moved to second place following a 2-0 win against Upington City. Thulani Ndlela scored the opening goal in the first half, and Bright Ndlovu netted the second to make it United’s fourth win in a row.
