KwaZulu Natal-based side Durban City extended the gap at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship to six points after ORBIT College and JDR Stars dropped points.
Saziso Magawana and Samkelo Maseko scored first-half goals to secure three points for Durban City. Muzomuhle Khanyi scored deep in the second half, but that wasn’t enough for the Hungry Lions.
ORBIT College dropped two points in a goalless draw against Venda Football Club. They have dropped four points in the last two games and dented their title hopes.
Cape Town Spurs came from a goal down to secure much-needed three points. Siyabonga Dubula scored the opening goal for Highbury FC before Mervin Boji and Therlo Moosa scored inside the second.
Brandon Truter’s Upington City secured much needed three points away from home, beating Casric Stars. Jabulani Shongwe scored deep in the second for Bafana Ba Gucci.
It was a dramatic win for Kruger United after AmaTuks came from 2-0 down to make it 2-2 before Kruger United scored inside the 90th minute. Khotso Malope and Thulani Ndlela scored for Kruger. Luke Daniels and Sam Julies scored for AmaTuks.
In another drama, JDR Stars came from a goal down to secure a point against Black Leopards. Lidoda Duvha led in the first-half through Kamogelo Ngwane and Tshepo Matsimbi. Before Stars completed a comeback in the second half, with Banele Hlophe and Ismail Wadi scoring.
