Former Bafana Bafana captain Steven Pienaar has secured his UEFA Pro Licence, following in the foot steps of Benni McCarthy and Quinton Fortune.
On Thursday, Steven Pienaar confirmed that he has completed his UEFA Pro Licence, which he has acquired via the Irish Football Association.

Pienaar comes the latest of a former Bafana players, who are working towards their coaching badges.
He follows in the footsteps of McCarthy and Fortune, who both also hold an UEFA Pro Licence, while TS Galaxy coach Sean Ramovic and Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro.
The UEFA Pro License is the highest coaching qualification certificate in Europe and allows any holder to manage in the top tier of a European nation’s league system on a permanent basis.
Holders are also permitted to manage in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.
‘Schillo’ was last coaching in the youth structure of his former club Ajax Amsterdam and it remains to be seen what is next steps in coaching are.
