Ex-CT City Youth Player Completes Armenia Switch

Former Cape Town City development player Aphelele Madolwana has completed a move to Armenian Premier League side FC Ararat Yerevan.

Madolwana captained the City under-18 side that won the Engen Knockout Challenge in 2022 but the 21-year-old centre-back never managed to break it through to the senior side.

Madolwana completed a move to Yerevan who are currently sitting bottom of the Armenian Premier League which consists of 10 teams. After six games, they have accumulated just one point, conceding a whopping 15 goals.

The former CT City defender’s arrival could come in handy with the side facing relegation and could feature in Ararat’s next game which is against third-placed Urartu.
