Orlando Pirates won the race for second place after beating AmaZulu 4-0 at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The Buccaneers moved to 54 points on the log, while SupersSport United lost 1-0 to Sekhukhune United, meaning Pirates will play in the CAF Champions League next season.
At the bottom, Chippa United held Golden Arrows to a goalless draw, which was enough for them to move above Maritzburg United into 14th place, who had already played on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Marumo Gallants lost 2-0 to Swallows and have been relegated, while the Team of Choice have to go into the relegation/promotion playoffs.
