Kaizer Chiefs right-back Reeve Frosler has down-played suggestions that they have suffered a psychological knock after a string of indifferent results.
Before Saturday’s shock win over Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals, Amakhosi had gone four matches without a win in the Betway Premiership which sees them currently fighting to stay in contention for next season’s MTN8 competition.
The 27-year-old, who is out of contract by the end of June 2025, has featured 21 times in all competitions with three assists this term and says psychology has not been a factor but that they have just been unlucky despite putting in the work.
“I don’t think psychologically it gets to us. I mean you win a game; you go to another game, you go out there to win the game and sometimes you do everything you can to try and win the game and it just doesn’t go your way,” he told iDiski Times’ Lethabo Kganyago in edition 199.
“You are creating chances you have taken 20 shots for example and your opponents take one shot and you lose the game 1-0.
“Sometimes it’s just unfortunate but psychologically I think we’ve always tried every game we go to, and we try to win the game.”
