AmaZulu FC defender Nkosikhona Radebe has staked his claim for a spot in the national team, confidently asserting he is “better than many players” who are in his position in the Bafana Bafana setup.
Radebe has been with Usuthu since January of this year, having joined from TS Galaxy.
He has quickly established himself as a regular. This season he has featured in all six matches that the club has played in all competitions.
Radebe has his sights set on a national team call-up, stating that consistency is the key area he needs to improve to achieve his Bafana aspirations.
“I can say I’m ready to play there but if I can be consistent and, in my position, because I feel I’m better than many who are playing in the national team,” said Radebe.
“But being consistent is important. So, I feel that’s my problem so far. I guess I have to focus on that.”
Usuthu take on Stellenbosch in the Betway Premiership on Wednesday, 17 September at the Princess Magogo Stadium at 19:30.
Radebe says he believes the Cape Winelands side owes them one after they knocked them out of the MTN8 in the quarter-final.
“What I can say is we are very motivated as we are sitting on a good spot in the league standings,” he added.
“I feel they owe us and this game is there for a taking. We are ready to do all we can in this game.
“They beat us in the last game. So, no matter how they approach the game, we will fight because they owe us.”
