Junior – Why Kaizer & Khoza Are My Role Models

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Junior Khanye has revealed why he looks up to Kaizer Motaung and Dr. Irvin Khoza.

The iDiskiTV analyst spoke to David Kappel in an exclusive interview for iDiski Times about his new book ‘Ghetto Ninja’ as well as his own club Fak’ iMali Uzobona FC.

Khanye says he has high ambitions for the club but he will not rush the next steps, as he is keen to put the right foundations in place in order to compete at the highest level at some stage.

“I own the team, it’s called Fak’ iMali Uzobona FC – it means put your money where your mouth is,” he said.

“I want this team to be like Orlando Pirates or Kaizer Chiefs, Daveyton is the home for them. I’m busy doing research for SAB [League], I don’t want to go into LFA. I started this team in January last year.

“Within the last two months we’ve managed to start Junior Khanye Football Academy, we are going to play in a SAFA Ekurhuleni football tournament. In two to three months to come we’re also going to register an U17 team as a feeder team so that we can continue.”

Khanye also stated that Chiefs’ founder and chairman Kaizer Motaung as well as Orlando Pirates founder and chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza are his role models after growing two of the countries biggest clubs.

“The team is doing well, we’ve won all our games but remember I don’t care about the result. For me it’s about how you play the game,” Khanye added.

“But back to your question, Irvin Khoza and Kaizer Motaung, they are my role models with regards to the vision for Fak’ iMali Uzobona FC. They are people that I look up to them.

“I’m a believer in talent, I want to give back to the community. As I said to you, if I can help two to three people with my career then I’ll be happy.”
