Mamelodi Sundowns first-team coach Steve Komphela has reacted to his hug with Kaizer Chiefs’ interim coach Arthur Zwane.
The former Amakhosi coach was seen sharing a warm embrace with Zwane ahead of their DStv Premiership match on Sunday.
Amakhosi were held to a 1-1 by the newly crowned DStv Premiership champions, with the result all but ending their hopes of finishing in the CAF Champions League spots.
However, before the match Zwane and Komphela put their current club rivalry aside, with the Masandawana first team coach stating both are “blood brothers”.
“Coach Arthur is my blood brother and we share a lot and have great mutual respect,” he stated on social media.
“When you genuinely know someone’s struggles, the energy shows. We did a lot of honest sacrifices with Coach Arthur and he knows what we went through, the passion and dedication to serve selflessly, knowing that the only witness is the future.”

Zwane had also addressed the hug in his post-match press conference, saying the two have a “great relationship”.
“But coach Steve for the fact that he was head coach at Kaizer Chiefs, we had that relationship, even now we still talk, we share a lot of things. We are all students of the game,” Zwane said.
