Kaizer Chiefs defender Zitha Kwinika has shared his thoughts on the controversial non-penalty, revealing that Mduduzi Mdantsane told his teammates he felt a touch from Thapelo Maseko.
Kwinika, 29, was an unused substitute in the 2-1 defeat to Sundowns, which saw Amakhosi get kicked out of the MTN8 semi-final, extending the club’s trophy-drought.
The versatile defender also discussed the controversial moment when Mduduzi Mdantsane appeared to have been kicked by Thapelo Maseko in injury-time of the second leg.
“I think it is clear,” Kwinika when asked by iDiski Times about the situation.
“If you can got back to the screen, we all saw it. Obviously after the game he did say there was a touch and we confirmed that when we saw it on screen.”
Chiefs, however, cannot change the situation, even though former FIFA referee Ace Ncobo argued they should’ve had two penalties in the game, while there was also an infringement by Peter Shalulile before scoring his record goal after 10 seconds.
Amakhosi must now switch their focus back tot he DStv Premiership, where they will face Sekhukhune United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday.
Babina Noko currently sit in fifth place with 10 points from from five matches, while Chiefs are in eighth after picking up just eight points from seven games.
