Magesi CEO Issues Warning To Pirates

Magesi FC Chief Executive Officer John Mathibe has issued Orlando Pirates a stern warning as they aim to make history in the sides’ Carling Knockout Cup last 16 clash.

The rookies earned automatic promotion from the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season and will feel what it’s like to rub shoulders with one of the ‘Big Three’ when the two sides face off on Saturday, 19 October, at Orlando Stadium.

Dikwena Tša Meetse had a bad start to the beginning of the season after losing the opening two matches to Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City, respectively. Since then, they’ve enjoyed two good results beating Golden Arrows 1-0 and playing to a goalless draw against Royal AM.

They will be participating in the Carling Knockout for the first time and ahead of the fixture, Mathibe warned Pirates stating that they would do everything in their power to beat them.

“I’m warning Pirates. We have a lot of respect for them, and we, as Magesi FC, would like to congratulate them on their recent victory as MTN8 Champions,” Mr. Mathibe told the club’s media.

“Dikwena Tša Meetse is taking this game seriously, and we are in a position to make history. It’s about everything that we have worked for; our players have an opportunity to grow as professionals, and Magesi FC will be taking the brand to another level.

“I want to promise The Chief of Moletjie, his Majesty Kgoshi Kgabo Moloto III (K3), and our supporters that we will give everything that we have on the day.

“To our esteemed Chairman and his family, we want to make you proud. As for Pirates, they have a reputation to protect, but we are ready.”
