Former Bidvest Wits, Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Phakamani Mahlambi is currently in Johannesburg training alone as he looks to return to top-flight football.
Mahlambi became the first South African player to go player to Egypt after completing a big move to the African club of the decade Al Ahly SC in September 2017 from Wits.
The 26-year-old returned to South Africa in August 2018 after he was signed by Sundowns. He won three league titles with the Tshwane giants before he was loaned out AmaZulu and Chippa United.
Mahlambi’s representative Glyn Binkin mentioned that the Egyptian Premier League winner is working hard to return to topflight football after he parted ways with Sundowns in July 2022.
“He is in Johannesburg training on his own and working hard to regain his fitness and thereafter we will see what the future holds,” Glyn Binkin told iDiski Times.
It remains unclear whether there are talks with football clubs at this moment as his representative stated that he is working on his fitness.
