Chippa United head coach Morgan Mammila is confident that chairman Chippa Mpengesi will be able to sort out the issues around the FIFA transfer ban.
The Gqeberha-based outfit was slapped with the ban earlier this month following a settlement dispute with former player Abdi Banda.
Banda joined the Chilli Boys in July 2022 and left in August 2023 after making 17 appearances but there were problems with his exit as the club did not honour the settlement agreement reported to be about R1,2 million.
Mammila spoke to iDiski Times Writer Lethabo Kganyago in edition 131 of the newspaper where he was asked about the matter and said he is not even worried.
Mammila said he knows that his boss who he called a winner is working on resolving the matter and that will take a few weeks.
“Chippa United is a big team,” Mammila told iDiski Times.
“I saw that we are banned but one thing for sure is that this is a big team.
“Check after a week you’ll see different news. I think the chairman is working on it. He is not a failure, he is a winner. I know he will win within a week when it comes to this.
“I’m not even worried. As I said, I know that my friend Chippa Mpengesi is a winner. He will win this one, he has won so many battles.
“This one is too small for him and I’m just saying a week but even a week is too much for him to win this one. So he will come out tops when it comes to this one. Chippa United won’t be banned for two weeks”
