Mark Mayambela has won his first trophy as Mamelodi Sundowns‘ U15 head coach after guiding them to the Gauteng Development League this past weekend.
Mayambela joined the Sundowns junior side early in August after spending years at Cape Town City as U16 coach. The former Orlando Pirates winger has been regarded as one of the best youth coaches after his achievements at CT City, and joining Sundowns was a seen as a huge challenge.

The UEFA A license holder clinched the Gauteng Development League with flying colours after accumulating 93 points in 34 league matches. Throughout the season Sundowns lost only one game and drew three games. They scored a total number of 144 goals.

Kaizer Chiefs finished in second place and SuperSport United in third place.
The GDL title adds to his healthy trophy cabinet which has under 16 FTIFA Cup, U16 4th Moment and U18 Engen Knockout Challenge.
