Spurs Land New Signing After Haukongo Blow

Relegation strugglers Cape Town Spurs announced the signing of Tshepo Gumede after Maritzburg United exit in December.

Spurs is Gumede’s 11th club in a career that started 16 years ago, with the former SuperSport youth player most notably playing for Platinum Stars, Orlando Pirates, Cape Town City and Marumo Gallants.

The 32-year-old won the Telkom Knockout and MTN8 both with Dikwena in 2013, three seasons later he won the Telkom Knockout for the second time in his career with Cape Town City.

The Urban Warriors has turned to Gumede on a short-term deal after the recent injury to Lubeni Haukongo, which will ruled him out for the season.

He joined as a free agent after his exit from the Team Of Choice this season where he featured 17 times.

Spurs will face TS Galaxy on Sunday afternoon at Athlone Stadium in a crucial clash as their quest to escape relegation continues.
