Motsepe Foundation Championship Round-Up

Tshakhuma are top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship after four rounds of action in the South African second tier.

A good 2-1 home win for All Stars saw them go top temporarily on Friday. Justice Figuerido and Siphelo Baloni; gave All Stars a two-goal lead, before Puleng Marema pulled one back for Polokwane City.

In the Tshwane derby between Pretoria Callies and AmaTuks, Lungelo Nguse grabbed what proved to be the winner ten minutes before half-time, as Tuks ran out 1-0 victors.

Second-half goals from Moeketsi Sekola and Thabiso Nkoana saw TTM win the Limpopo derby 2-0 against Venda Football Academy.

Hungry Lions returned to winning ways after a 3-2 victory over Platinum City Rovers, but remain behind TTM on goal difference.

On Sunday there were away wins for JDR Stars and Baroka. JDR picked up a controversial 1-0 win at the Athlone Stadium over Cape Town Spurs, after a goal was awarded where it seemed like the ball, in goalkeeper’s Lincoln Vyver’s hands, didn’t cross the line.

Meanwhile, Baroka beat Black Leopards 1-0 in another Limpopo derby.

Thabiso Botopela scored a brace as Magesi were 2-1 winners over Casric FC, while it ended 1-1 between La Masia and Uthongathi.
