Orlando Pirates defender Olisa Ndah says he’s not worried about Kaizer Chiefs’ striker Wandile Duba after he warned the Buccaneers must be ready for him.

Duba, 19, scored his first senior goal for Chiefs in their 1-0 win over Golden Arrows.

After the match, he confidently stated that Pirates must be ready for him, but Ndah played down his comments on Thursday.

No, I don’t think it’s a challenge, they just scored a goal,” he told journalists.

“I’m not worried about what the little guy said, I think he is more excited.

“So I’m just looking forward to the next game on Saturday, we just have to deliver.”

Ndah, 26, has become a mainstay in Pirates defence since his return from injury and experienced a few derbies himself so far.

In the first half of the current campaign Pirates ended a five-match losing streak in league derbies against Chiefs, and Ndah believes their rivals have often got the better of them because they know how to rise to the occassion.

“I think because the Derby motivates them like it does to us,”

“No matter what, no matter how bad we’re playing, it’s a Derby where everyone is at its best and everyone wants to deliver.

“So I think it’s more like on the occasion, because they know how important it is, so they become more difficult to play.”
