Nigeria have suffered a major blow at the current Women’s African Cup of Nations after FC Barcelona star Asisat Oshoala had to leave the camp due to injury.
The 27-year-old who scored 20 goals for the Blaugrana this season and was expected to be one of the big stars at the WAFCON in Morocco sustained a Grade Medial Collateral Ligament strain in the 2-1 loss to Banyana Banyana.
Oshoala will not play further part in the tournament and travel back to Spain to start her recovery process, the Nigerian Football Federation confirmed.

The Super Falcons, who are the defending champions, will now have to continue the tournament without the four-time African Footballer of the Year.
Nigeria continue their tournament against Botswana, who beat Burundi 4-2 in their Group C opener, on Thursday at 22:00, South African time.
