Ntseki Assesses Gonzalez & Matlou Starting Debuts

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki believes Jasond Gonzalez and George Matlou did will in their starting XIs debuts but lamented his side’s finishing in the goalless draw with Royal AM.

Amakhosi were held to a 0-0 by the visitors, with both sides extending their unbeaten run at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.

Ntseki mixed up his starting XI a bit, with new striker Gonzalez and Matlou being in the line-up for the first time this season.

“I think they did well,” the coach said on SuperSport TV after the match.

“It’s just a matter of time for them to understand and have a clear tactical cohesion, in terms of the runs they make. And when they do those runs, how do we connect with them.

“I think it’s something that we can work on and the next game they will be better.”

Ntseki, though, wasn’t happy with his side’s finishing but insisted it is something they can improve on.

“I think it’s coachable because when you do finishing exercises it is not only on the technical side of it but also on the tactical side of it,” he added.

“To understand in which areas of the field the defenders will be and also the positioning of goalkeeper.

“But the most important thing is the execution, the technical execution. But also mentally plays a role because you need to be composed with your scoring, you need to take advantage of those chances.”
