Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic was spotted training with Cape Town City recently and impressed coach Eric Tinkler, iDiski Times has learnt.
Nurkovic, 30, joined Royal AM after leaving Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the 2021/22 campaign, but was carrying an injury, which he aggravated in training.
There were some issues over Nurkovic’s contract and payment at Royal AM, which were taken to FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber.
The player never made an official appearance for the club, but he did feature for 71 minutes in last year’s Macufe Cup, when Royal AM beat Kaizer Chiefs on penalties.
The latest around the Serbian striker is that Cape Town City are weighing up their options on signing former Amakhosi man.
The 30-year-old spent a few days training with Eric Tinkler’s team before they went on break, this publication has learnt.
Nurkovic is believed to have impressed Tinkler, but there are concerns over his condition and injury-status, and the club are believed to have not yet made a decision.
