Official: Kgatlana Going Back To The USA

Banyana Banyana star Thembi Kgatlana is heading back to the USA, after Racing Louisville announced they had signed her from Spanish outfit, Atletico Madrid.

Kgatlana, who is currently with Banyana at the WAFCON, had spent the past few seasons in Spain, having played for Madrid and Eibar previously.

She will return to the USA after originally playing for Houston Dash back in 2018. That was the 26-year-old’s first sojourn overseas, having previously played in the SASOL leagues with the University of the Western Cape.

After a season under Vera Pauw at Dash, Kgatlana headed to China where she joined Beijing BG Phoenix.

A year later she headed to Portugal and joined Benfica. It was a short stay in Portugal, in the covid-interrupted  season, and later that year she joined Eibar.

After a year at Eibar she made the move to Atletico Madrid, where she has starred until this move.
