Ouaddou – It’s Too Soon To Judge Me

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou says he remains humble after reaching another cup final, having already won the MTN8 in September.

The Buccaneers earned a place in the Carling Knockout Cup final with a 1-0 win over Richards Bay in the semi-finals at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Tshepang Moremi netted the match’s only goal, sending Pirates to their first league cup final since the 2018/19 season.

Ouaddou, on the cusp of adding another trophy to his Pirates tenure, emphasized that it’s too early to reflect on his journey at the club. He believes it’s best to assess his work at the season’s end, as the focus remains on continuing to improve with the team.

“I think it’s too soon to summarise my time so far at Orlando Pirates, I’ll be judged at the end of the season,” said Ouaddou after the match against Richards Bay.

“I’m still in the beginning. In the job, you have to be very humble. I think the ambition we have is to deliver in every game a good performance.

“It’s what we did today and three days ago [against Golden Arrows]. The boys are doing a great job since three, four months.

“But for me, let’s say if you ask me that question at the end of the season, I’ll be able to answer you. It’s too soon, let’s stay humble and keep on working.”
