Ouaddou On Pirates Players Dominating Bafana

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has shared his views on his side dominating Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations with nine players.

The Buccaneers have more players included on Broos’ 25-man selection than any other Betway Premiership team, followed by Mamelodi Sundowns with five.

Ouaddou insisted it shows the hard work done by him and everyone at Mayfair, but insisted their sole focus for now is Saturday’s Carling Knockout Cup final against Marumo Gallants.

“First of all, we are proud as a club, and proud as a coach for my players to be such represented in the national team,” he stated.

“I told you before, Orlando Pirates is a club working for the nation. We are available for the national team, we are available for the coach of the national team for the collaboration.

“Of course, when we see such number of players, we want to wish them all the best. But before speaking about the national team, we have a target this week.

“After that we will wish them good luck for the AFCON.”

‘It’s Too Early To Judge Us’

Ouaddou also admitted that they are on track to achieve the club’s targets for 2025/26 but insisted there is still a long way to go before people can make judgements on their achievements.

“I just like to thank my players, to thank the club because it’s a collective work. I always say that we are getting results altogether.,” he continued.

“But just to judge this work since now it’s too early.

“But I can tell you that we are aligned with the targets of the club, and we are doing our job and we will continue to work in order to reach targets for the club and the fans as well.”
