Former Cape Town City midfielder Ayanda Patosi has clarified the speculation of his reported return to the club.
Patosi recently left Iranian side Foolad FC after having a three-year spell in the Middle East. The 30-year-old won the Iran Cup and Iran Super Cup before parting ways via mutual consent.
Talk has naturally been rife that ‘Deco’ might be re-joining City for a third spell at the club but he’d downplayed the notion.
“I just arrived home yesterday from Iran, I turned down a few offers in Iran because I felt like it was time for me to change the country [I’m playing in],” Patosi told iDiski Times.
“I had a concrete offer with one of the teams in Iran. Now I am home and spending time with my family.
“I am not training with any team as you know I have a good relationship with Mr. John [Comitis] but we haven’t spoken about anything yet.”
Patosi scored 11 goals and registered eight assists in 46 games during his previous stints with City.
