Pirates & Arrows Starting XIs Announced

Orlando Pirates and Lamontville Golden Arrows have announced their starting line-ups for the DStv Premiership clash at Orlando Stadium in the evening.

Pirates missed a chance of going closer to the top-two on Wednesday, when they played a 1-1 draw against their arch-rivals Moroka Swallows. The Buccaneers are sitting fourth in the league, four points behind second-placed Stellenbosch FC.

Jose Riveiro’s side will aim to get back to winning ways, as they only managed to collect one point of a possible six points in their last two games. With eight games to go Riveiro stated that the aim is to return to the CAF inter-club competition.

Rejuvenated Arrows havn’t lost a match since the return of Steve Komphela. Before the arrival of the veteran coach Arrows was on the 11-losing streak, which saw them dropping out of the top eight but they picked up seven points in their three games under the new coach.

The KwaZulu-Natal-based side have 30 points, and sitting just four points behind Pirates, they also have a chance to finish in the CAF inter-club competition.

Pirates have got the better of Arrows of late, being unbeaten in their last five PSL matches (3 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses). Arrows are looking for their first league win in encounters between the two clubs since February 2021. Pirates have outscored Golden Arrows 7-2 during their unbeaten streak.
