Orlando Pirates have learnt when their outstanding three DStv Premiership fixtures will be played.
The Buccaneers are experiencing somewhat of a fixture chaos after reaching the CAF Confederation Cup final.
They have little turn-around time ahead of Friday’s final, which has impacted their DStv Premiership fixtures.
The local authorities, though, have tried to help the Sea Robbers and moved their domestic fixtures to after the final, as confirmed on Monday.
Pirates’ next DStv Premiership game will be against Maritzburg United at Orlando Stadium at 19:30 on 25 May, their fixture against Royal AM in Chatsworth was pushed to 29 May, 15:00 and their match against SuperSport United at Lucas Moripe Stadium was moved to 1 June, 19:30.
Pirates currently sit in seventh spot and need one more point to secure their participation in next season’s MTN8 Cup. With 40 points from 27 games, they also still have outside chances to finish inside the top four but would need to have results from Kaizer Chiefs and Royal AM go their way.
The team’s best chances of qualifying for a CAF inter club competition is by winning Fiday’s Confed Cup final, which would see them enter next year’s competition as defending champions.
The winner of the Confed Cup will not automatically qualify for the CAF Champions League.
