Pitso Makes Shock Al Ahli Admission

Pitso Mosimane has revealed that he hasn’t been paid by Al Ahli Saudi FC since January despite leading them back into the Saudi Pro League.

It seems the shackles are off amid the current situation between Mosimane and the club’s management after reports in May stated that Al Ahli’s leadership would prefer to go into the 2023/24 with a European coach.

However, despite Mosimane’s success on the field, it was understood that the club’s leadership were not keen to activate a one-year option in the South African’s contract.

Meanwhile, Mosimane, who continued to work professionally throughout and brought Al Ahli back into the Saudi Pro League before also securing the Yelo League title, has insisted his contract does include a one-year option which was activated automatically when he gained promotion.

Club president Walid Moaz recently stated that the club will sit down with the coach to discuss his future, but they left Mosimane and his technical team hanging out dry after the players left the recent trophy celebration and went into the dressing room, which visibly stunned the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach.

In a latest turn of events, Mosimane has now confirmed a report by TimesLIVE that he hasn’t been paid for five months.

“My salaries were delayed for a period ranging between two and two months, I did not get my salary for the last four months,” he told Saudi Arabian TV show ‘In the Goal’, as per alarabiya.

“The last salary I received, as well as the players, was last January. And imagine this beautiful story that qualification takes place despite the players not receiving bonuses and salaries.”

The club are yet to comment on Mosimane’s shocking revelations.
