PSL Clubs Keen On Zimbabwe International Star

SuperSport United and Polokwane City are interested in Zimbabwe goalkeeper Bernard Donovan, according to reports in Zimbabwe.

Bernard is on the books of Zimbabwean side Chicken Inn and was outstanding in goals as the Warriors got two draws in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Nigeria respectively in the past couple of days.

The 28-year-old is said to be also wanted by another Zim side Dynamos and FC Platinum.

“We can just confirm that we have received some inquiries about Bernard from two top clubs in South Africa,” his handlers were quoted as saying in Zimpapers Sports.

“They are both keen to have him in this coming season, but we have not reached any agreement and we are still also considering local offers.

“He is still a Chicken Inn player as for now and there is also a chance, he will continue with them if they meet our expectations.”

Following his performance in these matches, Bernard praised coach Baltemar Brito for the trust to man up the posts.

“It’s something which I will not take for granted (because) it means a lot to me. I want to thank the coach for this opportunity,” said Bernard.

“It’s every goalkeeper’s dream to guard those goalposts for your country. To have someone who brings the best out of you, it’s a blessing.”

Bafana, unlike Zimbabwe, lost to Rwanda 2-0 in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Group C at Buye Stadium on Tuesday, where Zimbabwe drew with Amavubi and Nigeria respectively to collect two points.

It is the same number of points Nigeria had, who were held by Lesotho in the first qualifying match in Uyo.

Bafana are lying second after they beat Benin and before losing to Rwanda. The unfancied Rwanda is now the leader of the group with four points.
