Ramovic Discusses Galaxy’s FIFA Ban

TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic has said that he is confident the FIFA registration ban hanging over the club will be lifted soon, and by the time the Betway Premiership kicks off they will be able to play their new signings.

Galaxy were unable to play their eight new players against Stellenbosch on Sunday, and they had just five players on the substitutes bench as they went down 3-1 in the MTN8 quarter-final.

With Galaxy having once again sold key players to other clubs at the end of 2023/24, their squad needs the reinforcement, and iDiski Times asked the coach about the importance of getting the ban lifted in August to get their new recruits eligible.

“We should know until now, my club, TS, it’s a club that needs sometimes to sell players,” Ramovic replied to iDiski Times.

“And we talked before the game, I think no team in our league, sold 10 players to the best clubs in our league like we did.

“And then it’s not easy, of course, to build up again with NFD players, with young guys that come from the academies. But we have to find a way how we can succeed and this is how we do.

“Yes, I’m absolutely sure that we will be able to play with the players we have now or that we got in. I’m absolutely sure that the case will be solved and then we have to build up again.

“It will be much easier from my side to sit here and to tell you guys that our goal is to stay in the league, after we sold so many players but me in front, I want to win even when I have to bring this kind of winning mentality in our team and I can promise you these players that we have they will become very winning mentality monsters, absolute, because I see them every day.

“I see them, how they improve. I see them, what character they have, just unbelievable. Everyone trains on a high-intense note and I can just be proud to have players like that. But it takes time of course.

“Now to talk about that we want to win the league, a cup and this and that and that, I think the expectation, it will be wrong, even if it sounds beautiful. But the realistic thing is we have to go again top eight.

“It will be a very very tough one if we can reach again that top eight after we sold again three very key players, it will be just magic, but magic is here that we can get it.

Ramovic also didn’t rule of the possibility of other young stars from the club being sold, especially at the end of this campaign, but hopes for a stage where Galaxy don’t have to sell.

“Absolute, but their success is also my success,” Ramovic replied on interest in players like Mike Sebelebele, Puso Dithejane, Macbeth Mahlangu, Samukelo Kabini and Sphiwe Mahlangu.

“I know where I am. I know in which situation we are. But if we come I’m absolutely sure the day that we don’t need to sell the guys that we have, that we can build up even more and more and more. It takes time, yes, but I will not be surprised, let me say on this one, if we sell next season again six or seven.

“Why? We have top players in our team. They are young. I can start with the new centre the defender. Lebone Seema — top; Killa,  Puso, Kabini, Mike, Sphiwe and now these new guys that came also. I will not be surprised, but it’s beautiful to see that we can improve the guys.

“It’s beautiful to see that they can go to bigger teams this time, but I’m absolutely sure that TS Galaxy will be soon also one of the best clubs in our league and that we don’t need to sell players so that we can build, build, build and start to win cups and leagues. It takes time, yes, and this is our vision, our goal and we have to keep going.”

Following their MTN8 elimination, the Rockets will now switch their focus to further preparations ahead of their opening 2024/25 Betway Premiership encounter against Richards Bay on Sunday, September 15.
