TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic took a very cautious approach in his response regarding the then-vacant head coach role at Kaizer Chiefs.
Ramovic, 45, is said to have been offered to the Soweto giants when they were in search of a new coach ahead of the 2024/25 season, a position that has since being filled by Moroccan-French coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Galaxy president Tim Sukazi said at the time, “I want a strong Kaizer Chiefs. I know what Ramovic can do. It could be the turnaround for the biggest institution. I know he will bring them success, he will bring them a trophy.”
Speaking to the media at the MTN8 launch, Ramovic was very cagey in his response, though he admitted that it has never been a secret about Chiefs being one of the best clubs in South Africa.
“I have to be very grateful to God and to Tim that he gave me this opportunity,” Ramovic said.
“And I can only say he’s one of the best amazing human beings that I met in my life. He’s just fantastic.
“But why he does it (offer him to Chiefs), maybe he would like it for me because he also see I try my best everyday.
“I’m the head coach for this beautiful club [Galaxy] and I’m very happy to be here.
“But if you ask me how I think about Chiefs, yes this is not secret, I said it many times, it’s one of the best, maybe the most beautiful club in our league.”
The Rockets open their 2024/25 account with an MTN8 fixture against Stellenbosch FC in a repeat of last season’s Carling Cup final which was won by the latter.
