Mike Makaab, the agent of Sibusiso Vilakazi, has revealed the contract details of his client at TS Galaxy and why he wanted to leave Mamelodi Sundowns.
Vilakazi, 32, was announced as a new TS Galaxy signing on Thursday, joining the club alongside Xola Mlambo, who was also unveiled on the same day.
Many were surprised by his move to Galaxy and even Makaab admitted that the first call by owner Tim Sukazi came out of the blue, but then they quickly agreed on a two-year deal.
“We were in camp with Sundowns and negotiating with them over a new contract and out of the blue we were contacted by Tim Sukazi,” he said on Gagasi FM.
“The good news is that we were able to come to an agreement with him. Vila has a two-year deal and is super-excited to get back onto the playing field and get regular game-time.
“He knows it’s not going to be easy but he’s a wonderful professional and we’re super-excited for Vila.”

Makaab also revealed why Vilakazi wanted to write a new chapter in his football career away from Masandawana, saying Sundowns understood and the talks went very smooth.
“Sundowns appreciated the reason why Vila wanted to move on,” he added.
“He’s not getting any younger, he wants a new challenge, he wants to play and they also understood that when he was at the club he behaved like a true professional.
“He never gave them a day of worry, contributed magnificently to the success of Sundowns.
“We first held talks with the technical team of Sundowns and then management, and it was done in a very professional manner.”
Vila, as he’s affectionally known, made 138 appearances for Masandawana, scoring 29 goals and assisting another 21, helping them to lift five successive Premier Soccer League titles.
